The ownership for the sixth team of Pakistan Super League is still undecided. While several contenders are likely to have submitted their bids, the name of Ali Khan Tareen, the son of Pakistani business tycoon Jahangir Khan Tareen is somewhat prominent for his twitter posts regarding this matter. The young businessman recently tweeted that he has submitted his bid to buy the sixth team of PSL 4.
Ali Khan Tareen to Buy Sixth Team of PSL
Ali Khan Tareen has been continuously tweeting about his intentions to buy the sixth team of Pakistan Super League and keep it with Southern Punjab. As, the last date of submitting the bids was reportedly December 19, AKT tweeted that he had finally submitted his bid.
Earlier, Tareen had tweeted that he was reconsidering his plans to buy the team as he heard that buyers were intending to bid for more than 5m and he was planning to place a bid of 4m.
He even mentioned that last year Multan Sultans was sold for 5.2 m which he thought to be overpriced. But then there were rumors that some bidders were even paying around 7m.
All the Fuss about Sixth Team of PSL
Recently, PSL 2019 schedule has been released that showed an unnamed sixth team along with five teams of Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators. The sixth team played as Multan Sultans in third edition of PSL.
Later, PCB had terminated the Schion Properties’ ownership rights of Multan Sultans after they couldn’t meet their financial obligation. The team selection at players’ draft was also done by PCB, reportedly. It was also told to media that new owners will be entitled to select the name of their team which is known as the sixth team till now.
Who will be new owner ?
Whether Ali Khan Tareen will succeed in buying the sixth team of PSL or not is the matter of future. But, its new name and the owner will simply add excitement to an entertaining event of Pakistan Super League. After all, the fun is not limited to the field but it is a lot more than it.
