Whenever any new model of Android is developed, it is being displayed publicly by a statue at Google’s Mountain View campus, so is Android Pie. However, the announcement was not made like it was in previous years, where Google has held public gatherings in New York and Mountain View to introduce Oreo. With Pie being finished, people will be looking forward to predicting what will Android Q be called in the coming year.

Within minutes of the announcement, Android Pie was available to Google’s pixel phones, along with Android essential phones.

Key Features of Android Pie

Google announced that their next version of Android is Android 9 pie which is the official name of Android Pie. Besides the change of name, the number will also be different than the previous ones. It won’t be a considerable significant striking tactic but still is a noticeable shift.

Each fresh upgrade is preferable than the previous one.

Upgrading Pie

Many customers will probably update via OTA update, but if you can’t remain in readiness, you can manually do it.

What Google itself says about Pie

Android Pie is a thing of considerate importance as it includes features like gestures, digital wellbeing initiative and many more. Android’s UX Manager, EK Chung has lighted upon features of Android Pie so that people can understand why it is of such huge importance for the company.

Entire Change in Android’s Navigation System

Android Pie depends on gestures to a great degree for navigating the UI like:

  • Tap the Home button to go home
  • Swipe up to access the recent apps page
  • Swipe up twice or do a long swipe for the app drawer
  • The Back button only appears in specific apps/menus when it’s needed

It is a thing that people will get to know with the passage of time.

Google has also worked on the “digital wellbeing” of people which came to their notice during I/Os conference this year. It is also expected that the future versions of Google’s Android Pie will present a new system called Android Dashboard. With technology, things kept on improving day by day providing as much ease they can to the people.
