Asics New Zealand Apologizes For Showing Porn on Promo Screen

Asics New Zealand in a tweet apologized to its customers for displaying adulterated content on one of its shop’s promotional screens in Auckland New Zealand. Hackers took over the shop’s computer system and uploaded the adulterated content.

Asics New Zealand in Trouble

For those of you who don’t know, Asics is a Japanese multinational corporation that manufactures footwear and other high-end sports goods. The company HQ is located in Chūō-ku, Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.

The passersby was simply surprised to watch such content displayed non a screen in the center of the city.  A woman who was s passing by the shop  with her child expressed great discontent and anger over the incident while talking to media. She said, “this is not what we expect of them and not to mention highly inappropriate or unprofessional of them.”

For Two Hours or More No Action Was Taken

According to security officer Dwayne Hinagano, the adulterated content had been displayed for more  than two hours in the Sunday  morning between 8 am, and 10 am. The displays were then turned off by employees had arrived according to schedule for their daily shifts. Witnesses have also cited seeing the adulterated video at 1 am suggesting that the system may have been hacked before midnight.

The Company has assured it is working with its security suppliers to remedy the solution and prevent such incidents from occurring in the mere future.

This May Have Been an Initiation

According to a media reports hacking into the accounts or systems of well-known people or companies Is at the time a form of initiation that recruits must pass in order to become a member of a particular hacking group. The purpose behind such initiation is to make sure that the rookie is capable of hacking and covering his tracks properly.
