Bohemian Rhapsody Steals the Show at Golden Globes Awards

While everyone was expecting Lady Gaga starrer A Star is Born to win big , Bohemian Rhapsody a biopic of Queen singer Freddie Mercury stole the show at 76th annual Golden Globes Awards on Sunday.

The last year’s Golden Globes awards ceremony had turned into MeToo celebration. It had also become a talk of the town after Oprah Winfrey gave a speech on women empowerment and gave rise to speculations that she might be running for President.

Remember our list of the best new Hollywood movies to watch on Christmas? We had included A Star is Born for its story and also the Lady Gaga as a strong factor. But, the real life of Freddie Mercury was too impressive and played too well by Rami Malek to win big at Golden Globes.

The film won the award of Best picture at Golden Globes.



Rami Malek Wins the Best Actor

Rami Malek, who is himself an Egyptian-American won the award of best actor at Golden Globes Awards for Bohemian Rhapsody. He thanked for Freddie Mercury, the singer whose biography Malek played, for his achievement.

Glen Close Winning the Best Actress

Everyone expected Lady Gaga to win the best actress, but it was Glen Close who took the award home for her role in Glen Close. She also delivered a powerful speech conveying the message that women must do something in life for personal fulfillment. Her speech also earned her standing ovation.

Christian Bale Winning Best Actor Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy

Apart from Bohemian Rhapsody, Vice also made waves for leading nominations in six categories. Christian Bale who played Dick Chaney won the best actor in the Best movie; musical or comedy genre. His winning speech where he thanked Satan for inspiring the role of Dick Chaney also earned him applause.

Olivia Colman Wins Best Actress Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy

Olivia Colman won the best actress for The Favorite.
