6.4 Magnitude Croatia Earthquake Kills 7 And Injures More Than 20

Central Croatia recently experienced a destructive Earthquake. According to The European Mediterranean Seismological Center, the Croatia earthquake was of magnitude 6.4. The quake also rattled 46Km southeast of Zagreb and caused almost seven causalities and injured over twenty people. 

Mayor of Petrinja on Croatia Earthquake

The mayor of Petrinja, Darinko Dumbovic told the media that the public was panicking after the enormous obliteration as they were unable to find their families. The police officials, firefighters, and other field workers had been trying to find people and pulling them out from the ruins.  

Moreover, while Dumbovic was addressing media, another earthquake intervened and left the public in shock. However, the second time, the tremor was not as powerful as the previous one. 

Army To Rescue Croatians 

Unlike the Mexico earthquake and several other deadly tremors, the quake in Croatia wasn’t that strong but it was supposedly the largest in the states of Croatia. 

The prime minister, Andrej Plenkovic reportedly stated that Petrinja was extremely unsafe after the second Croatia earthquake. Thus, the locals should be moved to a safer place. Further, the army was also ready to help the survivors. 

Authorities Promised Funds 

The year 2020 has faced some serious and tragic events yet somehow, it didn’t cease to amaze the world. The hassle year ended with a bang by presenting the world with the Croatia earthquake. 

Nonetheless, the authorities have decided to give funds for the reconstruction of the fallen buildings and locals’ homes. The Petrinja residentials would have to be temporarily accommodated as they might have to wait for a while to return since the damage is severe and requires time to be fixed.
