Fakhar Zaman- First Pakistani Batsman to Score ODI Double Century

Fakhar Zaman has become a first Pakistani batsman to score an ODI double century. The batsman hit a double century in the fourth ODI against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

Fakhar Zaman double Century and Record Breaking Partnership

Fakhar Zaman not only broke the Saeed Anwar’s record of the highest 194 runs in an ODI and scored a double century on behalf of Pakistan but also made a record opening partnership with Imam-ul-Haq. The duo made a historic 304 runs opening and broke the record of Sri Lankan batsmen Jayasuriya and Tharanga who scored 284 runs in an opening partnership against England.

The previous highest opening partnership for Pakistani cricket team was one between Inzamam-ul-Haq and Amir Sohail in 1994 against New Zealand. The due had scored 263 runs.

It is a great day for Pakistan cricket team as it has achieved two significant milestones.

An Applause from the Fans

Such a wonderful achievement by Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq has given the Pakistani nation a respite from General Elections 2018 hype which has almost exhausted the nation due to the monotony it has created.

Experts and fans shared facts and applauded Fakhar and Imam for their brilliant performance.

Zaman is making a meaningful contribution towards Pakistan’s win in International tournaments. He had also helped Pakistan win ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final against India through his century.

Pakistan’s Prospects to Win In World Cup

Before Champion Trophy 2018 Pakistan Cricket team was in the abysmal state. Fortunately, the team is already popular for its excellence in short format cricket and ranks on top in T-20 ranking. Now, the performance by top order batsmen has increased the hope for it to perform well in 50 overs format also; something that boosts Pakistan’s chances to be Cricket World Cup 19 favorites.
