Gangnam Style video remained as the most watched video online for a lot of time. However, the Gangnam Style video does not remain to be the most watched YouTube video in the world anymore. The Gangnam Style video ruled the YouTube for five years.
The video became viral, and an instant hit. People over the world went crazy for the video. The interesting fact was that no one understood the language (Korean) but still became a fan. Videos Surpassing Gangnam Style Video
The song “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa became the most viewed video online. The 2015 song, a tribute to the legendary artist Paul Walker, has got more than 2.9 billion views. Paul Walker lost his life in an unfortunate car accident in 2013. He was accompanying his friend Roger Rodas in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. Both Paul Walker and his friend lost their lives in the tragic accident.
The Psy singer behind the song had said in an interview that his song became an unexpected success. He stated that the song was not something standard or what he would have expected from it. The combined views of both videos “See You Again” and “Gangnam Style” can reach up to 21,000 years.

The remix of this song by Justin Bieber added pizzazz to it.
Top YouTube Videos Belong to Music Industry
The most viewed YouTube videos belong to the music industry. Around 47 of the top 50 videos are of the music industry. The fact that a lot of viewers’ view music videos online clearly shows how the industry is using this channel to its advantage. However, there is an ongoing battle between the music industry and video streaming websites on royalty.
