Delhi Police filed an FIR (First Information Report) against climate activist Greta Thunberg for tweeting in support of the farmers’ protest in India. According to reports, the 18-year-old climate activist announced that she stood alongside farmers in the current situation, something that the Modi regime that is suppressing the resistance from farmers couldn’t digest. This move by the Indian government has driven hilarious responses on social media. People cannot believe how an entire country is scared of one teenage girl. She has technically exposed the fascist regime of PM Narendra Modi.
Greta Thunberg Replies With Determination
The teenager was not even bothered for a second by this joke by Indian authorities over a righteous tweet. It further established India as a fascist government, which is more concerned about the bad international press than farmers’ rights. Greta has apparently learned all about India’s hypocrisy around the narrative of secularism and rapid rise towards the Hindutva extremism. There are countless tales about injustices, human rights abuses, and discrimination against minorities in India. The young woman firmly stood by her original support for farmers and warned that threats like FIR couldn’t turn her back.
Earlier, she sparked a global concern for Indian farmers, who are protesting since August 2020 against three government bills regulating farm laws. The protests got intense after a tractor rally on 26th January breached Delhi’s Red Fort. The incident cemented that farmers are not going all this way to just quit without having their demands.

In her first tweet, she solidified her stance along with sharing a unique web tool which can be used to assist the farmers during long-term protest.
Not only Greta Thunberg but also pop star Rihanna has shown her support for Indian farmers. Since then the Modi government’s supports are trying to paint this show of solidarity from international celebrities as some kind of conspiracy against the Indian government instead of standing for the rights of protesters.
How Does It Make India Look Internationally?
India usually proclaims superiority over its neighboring countries along with many other where there are fewer human rights problems. It also prides itself for being a part of the United Nations Security Council. Therefore, its immature action of issuing FIR on a teenager for taking a clear stance, seemed like the government was self-doubting as it should.
Some other experts opined that this FIR might look like a joke but it could be a start of another Bhima-Koregaon violence in 2018. Huge clashes erupted between Dalit and Maratha cast groups after which around 300 people were arrested, 30 injured and 2 protestors died including one 16-year-old boy. The Indian government has the opportunity to hunt similar activists like Greta and implicate them in different conspiracies.
