Ilhan Omar’s Dancing Tribute to Prince Goes Viral on Social Media

Ilhan Omar the first ever headscarf wearing congresswoman has shown her love for music in a beautiful way. On the eve of the 35th anniversary of Prince’s album, Purple Rain, Ilhan paid tribute to the singer by grooving to his song.

In a video that went viral on social media Ilhan is seen wearing a purple dress with the religious headscarf of same color; her attire reflected the essence of Prince’s album.

Response to Ilhan Omar’s Tribute to Prince

Here is the video that Ilhan shared on her Twitter and it surely has made her more popular among her fans.

Her dance is just making people raise a lot of questions. Maybe it helps debunk some stereotypes but that doesn’t seem to happen so easy particularly when political bias is deeply rooted.

As this person wondered if Ilhan could dance in public being a muslim while replying to her another video.

The dance kind of gave her approval of being the best person in Congress.

Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are the first two Muslim women who have made it to Congress. People are definitely pleased to see them there.

Folks are also sharing their own opinions about Prince and what they thought could have been the best albums.

Opponents had their own things to say. Like, Prince is from Minnesota and Ilhan represents Minnesota and her video might have been just a political stunt.

Well, she is cool. Isn’t she. Off course, there are those who oppose her for ‘their’ political believes. She is among those rare American politicians who talk openly against Israel’s human rights violations in Palestine and get accused for anti-semitism. And, considering the amount of hatred and personal attacks she faces from her opponents, such videos are indeed more like comic relief.
