On November 23rd, one of the biggest award ceremonies, the International Emmy Awards 2021 took place in New York City. The show holds a special rank when it comes to admiring the talent outside states. Emmys are something very special for dramas and television series across the world. This year, the nominations included the 11 categories comprising 44 nominees from 24 different countries. Though all the nominations were already decided in Sept 2021. Interestingly, Indian actors and series also became the highlights of the show.
Top 5 International Emmy awards 2021 Winners
The celebration and selection of the best international TV included several shows and actors across multiple regions including Israel, India, France, Brazil, Portugal, Singapore, UK, South Korea, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, and Spain. The international Emmy awards 2021 presented before the world the best of best Emmy winners. Also, the names of the presenters were Yvonne Orji, Method Man, Piper Perabo, Emeraude Toubia, Wilson Cruz, Aidan Quinn, Brian d’Arcy James, Vanessa Williams, Felipe Santana, and Angelica.
Best Comedy
The nominations for the best comedy were Campaign Promises, from Columbia, Motherland: Christmas Special, from the UK, and season 4 of Call my Agent, from France. The best comedy award went to the season 4 of Call my Agent which was produced by Mon Voisin Productions.
Best Drama
For the best drama category, the international Emmy 2021 was presented to the Israeli thriller drama, Tehran, which was created by Moshe Zonder. The tv series beat UK’s There She Goes Season 2 and Chile’s El Presidente.
Best TV Movie/Mini-Series
Out of 4 nominees including Norway’s Atlantic Crossing, South Korean’s It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, UK’s Des, and Brazil’s All the Women in The World, the best Tv movie/mini-series award went to Atlantic Crossing by the Cinenord film production company. The mini-series is based on a plot that depicts the period of World War II. As per the plot, Norway’s crown princess runs off to America to save herself from the Nazis.
Best Telenovela
The Chinese series, the song of Glory that is about a young emperor who is desperate and passionate to save his people from the influential and powerful aristocrats. The international Emmy Awards 2021 liked its story the best among the rest of the telenovelas including A Mother’s Love, Destiny, and A Quest to Heal.
Best Actor
The best actor nominations of the International Emmy awards 2021 included Roy Nik in Normali from Israel, Indian Nawazuddin Siddiqui in The Netflix film, serious men, Christian Tappán in The Great Heist from Columbia and, the winner of the award, David Tennant. He was chosen for his superb acting skills in Des, a British TV drama miniseries which is about the Scottish serial killer, Dennis Nilsen’s arrest in 1983.
