Inzamam ul Haq Opens Up About Danish Kaneria Controversy

Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria is making news in Indo-Pak tabloids after his fellow cricketer Shoaib Akhtar revealed that he was mistreated by his team-mates for being Hindu. Soon after Shoaib Akhtar’s statement went viral, criticism of the Pakistani team’s players started pouring in for their behavior. Folks came up with the pictures and relevant content that might have helped prove their stance.

Later, Danish Kaneria’s statement revealed that Shoaib Akhtar was right but not everyone mistreated him. The player also thanked Shoaib and cricketers who stood by him. He also expressed that his life was a mess and he wanted his fellow cricketers including Prime Minister Imran Khan to help him out. Kaneria also asked people to not politicize the issue of his mistreatment at the hands of teammates.

Danish Kaneria Treatment Was not Fair

While appearing as cricket expert and guest on a show, the ex-Pakistani fast bowler alleged that despite being an excellent cricketer who propelled Pakistan to multiple victories, the cricket team, and PCB treated Danish Kaneria differently which is unacceptable.

A player who has done so much for our county to be treated like this is a shame said, Akhter. He further mentioned an incident involving the team and Danish that occurred during dinner time, which didn’t settle well with him.

Inzamam ul Haq’s Response to the Matter

Ex-Pakistani cricketer and recently retired chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq revealed that he never felt that any player would treat another teammate badly only because he was a non-muslim.

India Seeing This As An Opportunity

India is facing some serious mass protests against the draconian Citizenship Amendment Act that aims at discriminating against its Muslim citizens under the guise of offering citizenship to non-muslim minorities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Now when the news of Danish Kaneria’s mistreatment at the hands of his team-mates is going viral some Indian ministers who have no clue how to calm the protestors without using brutality to curb the dissent, are sharing the idea of offering citizenship to him.

Well, Kaneria has not sought help from India but he has rather requested Pakistan government to help him out.

Pakistani Minorities Serving in Different Positions

Over the past few years, the minorities of Pakistan who preferred to refrain from indulging in various social and political aspects fearing rejection have started coming forth. Just recently, Pakistan acquired its first female Hindu judge who is faithfully serving the nation from Sindh. The Sikh community of Pakistan, after a little encouragement from the government, started taking on various roles in the community.

They have started applying for the army and civil services, encouraging other members of the minority community to pursue in their footsteps. Various members of the Christian community have served Pakistan from some of the most prestigious positions and have been awarded the highest civil as well as military honors.
