Kulbhushan Jadhav Sentenced To Death by Pakistan

Pakistan Army’s FGCM (Field General Court Martial) gave death sentence to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav. Kulbhushan Jadhav sentenced to death after trial for involvement in sabotage and espionage activities against Pakistan.

Kulbhushan Jadhav Sentenced to Death – India’s Reaction

India summoned Pakistan’s High Commissioner in New Delhi Mr. Abdul Basit and issued the following statement.

“If this sentence against an Indian citizen, awarded without observing basic norms of law and justice, is carried out, the government and people of India will regard it as a case of premeditated murder.”

Pakistani authorities arrested Kulbhushan Jadhav on 3rd March 2016 after conducting a successful counter-intelligence operation. Kulbhushan Jadhav was arrested in the Mashkel area of Balochistan.

Pakistan’s military media wing gave following statement on Kulbhushan Jadhav’s death sentence.

“The spy was tried through Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act (PAA) and awarded the death sentence. Today Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed his death sentence awarded by FGCM.”

Why Kulbhushan Jadhav Sentenced to Death?

Indian media has tried in the past to spread false propaganda on the hanging of Kulbhushan Jadhav. Kulbhushan Jadhav sentenced to death after his confessional statement was made public.

Confessional Statement of Kulbhushan Jadhav

The actual confessional statement of Kulbhushan Jadhav is very long. For the convenience of the reader, only the most significant portion of the text is included where the Indian spy confesses of his crimes against the state of Pakistan.

“I was the man for Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta who is the joint secretary, RAW, and his contacts in Pakistan, especially in the Baloch student organization. My purpose was to hold meeting with Baloch insurgents and carry out activities with their collaboration. These activities have been of criminal nature, these have been of anti-national, matlab terrorist, leading to the killing and maiming of Pakistani citizens also.

“And the main aim of this crossing over into Pakistan was to hold a meeting with the BSN personnel in Balochistan for carrying out various activities which they were supposed to undertake and carrying backward the messages which they had to deliver, backward to the Indian agencies.”

After explicitly mentioning his purpose of coming to Pakistan and trying to create fear and panic, he also said what he did once he realized that he was apprehended by the law enforcement and intelligence agencies of Pakistan.

“Once I have realized that I have been compromised in my process of intelligence operations I decided just to end the mess that I have landed myself in. And just wanted to subsequently move on and cooperate with the authorities in removing the complication which I have landed myself and my family members into.”

Kulbhushan Jadhav Sentenced to Death After Trial

Kulbhushan Jadhav sentenced to death after a trial by FGCM under the Section 59 of the PAA and Section 3 of Official Secret Act of 1923.

The Indian spy made his confession in front of a magistrate and court saying the Indian intelligence agency RAW assigned him with the task of planning, coordinating, and organization sabotage and espionage activities in the country. The main aim was to destabilize the country and wage war against Pakistan, particularly the regions of Karachi and Balochistan.
