What is Little Miss Meme All About?

Little miss meme is the latest social media trend that has attracted thousands of users. Many have shared their likes, dislikes, behaviours, insecurities, and other feelings along with funny cartoon drawings. It is like one of those fill-in-the-blank-style memes that start with a specific phrase and end with some relatable description. For example, someone trying to explain their eating habits would share a picture of a blob character making some gesture with “Little Miss Picky Eater” written on top.

Story Behind Little Miss Meme

Little miss meme uses the cartoon characters from British author/illustrator Roger Hargreaves’ children’s book series titled “Little Miss” and “Mr Men”. Hargreaves created these books in 1971 and 1981, respectively. Several decades later, the characters from those books are now featured in online memes. According to reports, the first batch of such memes went viral on Tumblr in 2021. They used the cartoons to describe personal facts that might be too intimate for social media. Over time, the meme’s popularity moved on to other platforms like Instagram and TikTok, prompting more people to jump on the bandwagon.

Hargreaves was inspired by the question from his 8-year-old son, who asked him what a tickle looked like. The author was so amused by his son’s question that he wrote a book called Mr Tickle.

Little Miss Meme For All Behaviours

The trend is getting so popular that people have created dedicated fan pages to share only the Little Miss memes. Thanks to social media, most users have developed some digital habits which are laughable to others. This meme brings them into the limelight, so everyone can have fun together.

Representing Interest in Music

The meme also helped some to explain why they didn’t mind feeding capitalism as long as it involved the K-pop musical group BTS. The boy band has a ridiculous following among the young generation. They are often criticized for thier choice, but this meme certainly allows them to be unapologetic about it.

Increasing Popularity

Along with thousands of social media posts sharing the Little Miss meme, many public figures and brands also couldn’t stay away. Here’s Nando restaurant describing the ordering behaviour of some of its loyal customers.

Way to Remember Past Mistakes

In case someone had enough of Little Miss memes, several users shared Mr Men memes to recall thier experience with the kind of men they came across in thier lives.

A similar fill-in-the-blank meme, She’s a 10, went viral last month in which people rated others 10/10 but also mentioned a trait which slightly put them off.
