Met Gala or Met Ball has been postponed due to novel coronavirus. The event was originally slated for May 4 this year. Fans that are eagerly waiting for glamorous and extravagant looks of their favorite celebrities, unfortunately, have to wait until next year. They are already missing top celebrity’s outfits like Rihanna’s Guo Pei and Lady Gaga’s Brandon Maxwell and other Met Gala Looks.
The Met Gala is formally Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball. It is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City.
Fashion Magazine Vogue’s Unique Way to Get Met Gala Looks
The theme of Met gala this year was “About Time: Fashion and Duration” as people are social distancing at home fashion enthusiasm has made them gocreative.
American performer Billy Porter and fashion magazine Vogue teamed-up and came up with the creative challenge of recreating their favorite red carpet looks from previous Met gala. They started a DIY challenge on Instagram which required no invitation but needed a bit of imagination called #MetGalaChallenge.
Billy Porter stated on Vogue’s official Instagram handle that it was time to end all fashion challenges. He asked people to think out of the box and recreate iconic looks from the previous red carpet of Met Gala at home. He added it could be Rihanna, it could be Gaga or it could be me but be creative. He asked to post their recreated look on Instagram with hashtag #MetGalaChallenge.
Instagram users have eagerly taken the challenge as they participated in many social media lockdown challenges like dalgona coffee challenge and those about make-up free looks..

The Instagrammers have used a sleeping bag, garbage bags, shower curtains, cardboard boxes and belts to recreate the red carpet look from previous Met Gala and participated in #MetGalaChallenge.
Well, these were not only commoners who joined in to create the famous Met Gala Looks but also the celebrities.
Many celebrities including Mindy Kaling and fashion lovers also took to Instagram to participated in challenge.
