8th of October Is Marked As “National Resilience Day” In Pakistan

On October 8th, 2005 a deadly earthquake came and shook Pakistan from North to South. This disaster was a threatening surprize by nature which became the cause of massive deaths in Pakistan. Such a calamity was one of its kind and something world never witnessed in years before. On this date, every year Pakistan celebrated ‘National Resilience Day” for refreshing the memory of that catastrophe.

“National Resilience Day”

The national resilience day is celebrated not only to remember that tragedy but it is a reminder for all the nation that preparations are required for these natural disasters. This day tells us that before enemies and opponents we are humans and a nation and we need to prepare ourselves and others around us also, for facing such natural tragedies which don’t discriminate on the basis of who is who.

The scenario on 8th October 2005

On Saturday 8th October 2005 a wave of earthquake arose from Kashmir which was felt by all regions of Pakistan, and neighboring countries of India, and Afghanistan. With the VIII (Severe) intensity and 15 km (9.3 mi) depth, this earthquake had a magnitude of 7.6 Mw

Initiatives and Message From Government to Nation

We all know that the natural disasters don’t mark the boundaries and it won’t listen to who you are and which state or political party you support. So when such horrible incidents occur some of the most important things that have to be done immediately are following.

  • Try to stand under the doorstep or take the cover under chair or table
  • Don’t run out and stay indoors till the shaking stops
  • Look For the injuries
  • Call the helpline

On this occasion of great sadness, PM Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi have also shared their condolences with the nation and those who lost their loved ones on this date in 2005.

Many other nations are also suffering from some natural disasters the recent Tsunami in Indonesia is one such example. We as natives of this planet earth need to gather on one page and find the solution and recovery methods regarding these natural disasters. Many many condolences for the families who lost their loved ones and May Almighty protect us from such natural disasters in Future. Amen!
