Netflix’s hit show The Crown has added Pakistani superstar Humayun Saeed to its upcoming Season 5. Saeed would be playing the role of Lady Diana’s Pakistani love interest Dr Hasnat Khan. The critically acclaimed historical drama is about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Each season depicted some of the most significant moments in the British Royal Family.
The first season covered the period from when the Queen married Prince Philip in 1947 to 1955, when her sister Princess Margaret’s engagement disintegrated. The second season showed the timeline from the Suez Crisis 1956 to Prince Edward’s birth in 1964. The third season covered the period from 1964 to 1977, showing two tenures of Harold Wilson as prime minister and introducing Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. The fourth season spanned 1979 to 1990, including the time when Margaret Thatcher was as prime minister and Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer. Reportedly, the fifth season and one more after it will close the series by covering the Queen’s reign into the 21st century.
Alongside Saeed, Elizabeth Debecki (Inception and Tenet), will be playing the role of Lady Diana. Saeed is the first-ever Pakistani actor appearing in the Netflix original show. Viewers have been excited and proud at the same time.

Then, there is Fawad Khan in Marvel’s upcoming miniseries Ms. Marvel, based on comic book superhero Kamala Khan. Now Humayun Saeed in The Crown may widen the prospects for more Pakistani talent in the International scene.

Humayun Saeed made his debut in the Pakistani film ‘Inteha’ in 1999. From there he went to enjoy a glorious career in films as well as TV.
His superhit TV shows include Mehndi (2003), Doraha (2008), Dil Lagi (2016), and Mere Paas Tum Ho (2019). He had also given huge box office movies like Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (2015), and its sequel in 2018. Host and co-star Vasay Chaudhry praised Saeed’s ability to bring in big money.
