PCB Adds New Players In Pakistan Cricket Team for South Africa Test

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced many new players to Pakistan cricket team for test series against South Africa starting from 26th January. According to the reports, these players have been displaying hard work so their selection in the national team came as a reward. The name of these crickets are seemingly Agha Salman, Saud Shakeel, Kamran Ghulam, Nauman Ali, and Tabish Khan.

Many cricket lovers have appreciated the authority for selecting new players, after massive disappointment in New Zealand last month. The situation was so critical that the board reportedly decided to replace Misbah-Ul-Haq with a foreign coach.

New Players In Pakistan Cricket Team Played Well In First-Class Cricket

Apparently, the board decided to select them for their performance in first-class cricket. This format of cricket involves test matches but are only limited to domestic level. Chief Selector Muhammad Waseem put up this squad and Pakistani cricket fans praised him for it on social media. It has been a high time for Pakistan team to select uncapped players from domestic cricket. Moreover, young players are more likely to make up for a team of the year like some Pakistani cricketers did in 2018.

Players who were dropped from the team are Shan Masood, Mohammad Abbas, and Haris Sohail. Additionally, Shadab Khan and Nasim Shah are out of action due to injury. However, Hassan Ali has made a comeback in test series after a proving his fitness. Mohammad Amir is still not playing after announcing to quit because of miss-management in the team. Babar Azam will lead the squad as a captain.

Here are the new players in Pakistan Cricket team that everyone is excited about:

Agha Salman

Agha Salman is a middle-order batsman from Lahore and plays for Lahore Qalandars. But, this will be his first time in the international squad. Reportedly, he has scored 941 runs in the Quaid-E-Azam trophy 2020-2021 with 2 centuries and 6 half-centuries.

Saud Shakeel

Saud Shakeel has been playing for Quetta Gladiators but his career in Metropolitan club and Alamgir Gymkhana. From there, he rose to prominence in Pakistan under-19 scene and scored two centuries against Kenya. Left handed middle order batsman has scored 970 runs in this season with three centuries and 5 half-centuries.

Kamran Ghulam

Kamran was also a part of under-19 world cup 2014 like Saud Shakeel. He has been playing first-class since 2013 and will make his debut against South Africa in upcoming test series. He is from KPK and became the first cricketer ever to score more 1000 runs in a single season of Quaid-E-Azam trophy.

Nauman Ali

Nauman Ali hails from Sanghar and started playing regular cricket from Fazlur Rahman Cricket Club in Hyderabad. He was a fast bowler but changed his style to spin after request from his former cricketer uncle, Rizwan Ahmed. He has also represented Hyderabad and Northern teams in first-class cricket while playing for UBL in grade 2 cricket.

Tabish Khan

Fast bowler, Tabish Khan has taken total of 598 wickets in his first-class career. Reportedly, he has been performing brilliantly for the last several years but never got a chance to play internationally. He is also one of the new players in the Pakistan cricket team that will play the historic test match series against South Africa in home ground.
