A young entrepreneur from Pakistan has started the first-ever crypto chai shop in London called Chai Ada. The cafe accepts cryptocurrencies as an official form of payment which no brand has done before. Owner Tayyab Shafiq said humans must look into the future, and crypto was that future.
How To Pay at Crypto Chai Shop in London?
At Shafiq’s crypto chai Shop, customers can pay for the delicacies with Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP, Verge, and Horizen. He has created an app linked with his business where people can instantly pay from their crypto wallets against the pound.
The owner told the media that he was delighted with the customer response. After a week, he has received 20% of the payments in Bitcoin and the rest in other cryptocurrencies. When asked about the risks involved, he replied that he firmly believed in crypto, NFT, and Metaverse technologies. Hence, he wanted to contribute to encouraging the use of digital currencies.
The Pakistani-Style Decoration
This crypto chai shop is also getting attention for its exquisite look that resembles something directly out of Pakistan. It is decorated in popular truck art, and the seating arrangement has been brought from Pakistan as well. Every table for customers has a built-in ludo, which is a famous board game in Pakistan.
The cafe is located outside Westfield Shopping Mall in Shephards Bush. Its colourful decorum cannot miss any eyes. Its roof, decorated in truck art umbrellas, can be seen from afar.
What Does it Offer?
There are various Chai (tea) and food items available at the crypto chai shop. Different forms of tea include Masala Chai, Cinnamon Chai, Elaichi Chai, and Kashmiri Chai. Food items range from desi to fast like Samosa, Chicken Biryani, Seekh Kebab, Paratha, Roll, and Tikka Wrap. There are also cakes including Pistachio Milk, Lotus Biscoff, and Red Velvet cake.
The cafe also offers a 10% lifetime discount on orders if customers purchase NFT (non-fungible token) from the business. Customers can buy the franchise by acquiring premium NFTs to become exclusive token holders. Shafiq also said that his company would be the first to open inside a Metaverse for customers to hang out virtually.
Who is Tayyab Shafiq?
Some might remember the 26-year-old businessman Tayyab Shafiq before opening the crypto chai shop. He once made headlines for opening a Biryani café inside the iconic red phonebooth of London. Unfortunately, he sold the phonebooth cafe due to UK regulations.
