Saba Qamar Reveals One Heartwarming Memory of the Late Irrfan Khan

Saba Qamar appeared on a talk show called ‘Ghabrana Mana Hai’ on ARY Digital Network with host Vasay Chaudhry. They talked about her Indian film Hindi Medium in which she worked alongside the late Indian actor, Irrfan Khan. She recalled what it was like to be in the company of one of Bollywood’s finest.

Saba Qamar Keeps the Memory Alive

Both of them shared a cute friendship and beautiful moments together. The Baaghi actress remembered one such moment during the shooting of the Hindi Medium in Delhi. She said that she told Khan that she wanted Eidi from him. He gave her a 500 INR bill which she said was still with her. She has even shared a picture of that moment on Instagram.

Irrfan Khan passed away at the age of 54 due to colon cancer. In 2018, he was diagnosed with a rare disease known as NeuroEndocrine tumor, which many of his fans misunderstood as related to the brain.

Saba and Irrfan in Hindi Medium

Saba told the host that was her first Eid in India which was made special by the late Bollywood actor. She mentioned she was his fan since childhood and always wanted to work with him. Hindi Medium was a dream come true for her and a sleeper hit at the Box Office. The film made 15 million USD within 2 months and crossed the 45 million USD mark globally within a year.

Following the film’s success, a spiritual sequel called Angrezi Medium also came out in theatres but was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Later it was released digitally on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform.

Here is the full conversation of Saba Qamar with the host.

Saba has worked in multiple super-hits shows lately. Last she appeared in the drama serial Cheekh (2019) which was about a young woman struggling to get justice for her dead friend, who was killed by her own brother-in-law. The drama shows some advantages of patriarchy that men enjoy and abuse to derail women standing up to them. It pitted Saba’s character against a psychotic man who would stoop to any length in getting what he wants. Saba will be returning to dramas soon with Tumhare Husn k Naam with costar Imran Abbas.

Saba has also recently worked in a Pakistani film called Ghabrana Nahi Hai, which was expected to release last year but kept on delaying because of COVID-19 restrictions. There is still no latest announcement about the release of the film. Once again Saba was paired up with Zahid Ahmed, which was her co-star from the hit drama Besharm. It would be Zahid’s first film ever in Pakistan.
