Things to Do on Eid-ul-Adha to Celebrate the Event In A Special Way

Muslims around the globe are excited as Eid-ul-Adha 2018 is just around the corner. On this eve, the followers of Islam sacrifice the animals like sheep, goat, cow, and camel and distribute the sacrificial meat among the friends, relatives and needy people. While there exists quite a clarity on how to celebrate this Eid, the fun lovers still look for other activities to make this day special.

Things to Do On Eid-ul-Adha

Well, the very first activity on Eid-ul-Adha is to offer Eid prayers and to sacrifice the animals. The ritual of sacrificing animals can be performed on all three days of Eid. Several other things can double the fun and make the event more special.

Here is how one can amass and distribute more happiness on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.

1. Making A True Sacrifice

On this Eid, Muslims follow the Prophet Ibrahim who, on the order of Allah, tried to slaughter his son Ismail, but Allah accepted his sacrifice and replaced Ismail with sheep. Now, Muslims all over the world follow Prophet Ibrahim’s tradition. They slaughter an animal and distribute the meat among the needy. The spirit of this ritual is to sacrifice some precious thing, as Ibrahim didn’t hesitate to sacrifice his son.

Unfortunately, Muslims nowadays seem to be interested in showing off. There are many people, particularly in sub-continent who brag about how many animals they slaughtered on this Eid. Those who want to contribute to society by sacrificing something should consider giving this money to some needy people. They can choose not to slaughter the goats and cows and donate this money to someone who badly needs it for health, education, paying rent or for any other purpose.

  1. Personally Distributing Sacrificial Meat

Not all of us who sacrifice the animals indulge in distributing the sacrificial meat. Usually, needy and deserving people come at our doors to collect their share. It is much likely that those who have to ask for the meat might feel a sense of humiliation. On this Eid, tell the people of lower social class that they are equal human beings and go at their doorsteps to share what you have. You can also invite them into your homes and plan a lunch or dinner together.

3. Arrange Barbecue Parties at Home

Barbecue parties on Eid-ul-Adha are a must to do things. This time, arrange an Eid night barbecue party and invite your friends on it. Such parties, characterized by music and food offer a get-together. You can do something new by inviting some unusual guests, like those who don’t belong to your social or ethnic class. You can also check the ideas for specials barbecue recipes.

4. Go to Meet Your Old Friends

Here is a unique Eid celebration idea which is valid for Eid-ul-Fitr as well. On the eve of this Eid make plans to visit your old friends whom you have not seen for years; this might sound something cliché, but it is just like a blow of fresh air.

5. Try Some Cooking

Eid-ul-Adha is more about food. Households usually try several meat recipes. Even if you are not a good cook, then still try some new recipes. You can find plenty of special Eid-ul-Adha recipes.
