Social media users have been slamming the Swing restaurant in Karachi for using Gangubau Kathiawadi’s scene to offer a 25% discount for Men’s Monday. The advertisement posted on the restaurant’s social media was supposed to promote an offer for men. The clip showed Alia Bhatt’s character, whose dead inside after being forced into prostitution, gesturing in the crowd to score her first client.
The caption is truly an icing on the cake. It says, “Aja na raja, what are you waiting for”. It sparked outrage among viewers who would love to forget that this restaurant ever existed.

By looking at the advertisement, many believed that the marketing team of Swing restaurant was not in its senses. The scene captured the pain and sorrow of a woman forced into prostitution. Using such a scene for amusement or business was a poor idea. Viewers called out the restaurant for thier cheap advertisement, which made fun of helpless women forcefully dragged into prostitution.
Like Food Like Character
The film Gangubai Kathiawadi was based on a real story of a young woman who was sold to the Indian prostitution mafia by her own boyfriend. This made Swing restaurant lose all its respect among customers. They questioned how low could the restaurant go for publicity. Some also revealed that thier quality of food was as third-class as thier characters.

Her real name was Ganga Harjivandas, and she was famous as the most feared mafia queen of Mumbai. The film showed her younger days when she was a naive girl in love with a dashing man. However, that same man betrays her by eloping with her and selling her to the brothel.
The film showed how she was fed to men who brutalized her. After the death of her brothel owner, Gangu chose to become the leader and protect other girls instead of freeing herself. Alia Bhatt played the titular role and received admiration from huge Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh. She recently tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor, a wedding which remained the talk of the talk for weeks.
