Thugs of Hindostan Box Office Business- Aamir Khan Film Breaks Records

Thugs of Hindostan, the much-anticipated Bollywood film of 2018 has finally hit cinemas. Despite being one of the most expensive films of the Indian film industry, it has failed to come up to the massive hype. While critics have termed it an average film, Thugs of Hindostan box office business for the first day of its release reveals something else.

The massive figures show that Amir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer is going to be a big hit.

Thugs of Hindostan Box Office Business

Thugs of Hindostan was released on 7000 screens, reportedly. The film took advantage of Diwali and raked in almost 50.7 cr throughout India. According to the Bollywood business analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has smashed all records. It is highest day 1 for Hindi film, highest Day 1 for YRF and highest Day 1 for a Diwali release.

Thugs of Hindostan box office business for opening day has topped the list of top five Bollywood movies with the highest opening. Till now Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju had collected more than 32cr on the first day of its release. Other films include Race 3, Baaghi 2 and Gold.

Prediction for Thugs of Hindostan Success

So far Thugs of Hindostan box office business has been encouraging. But, whether the film continues to perform well depends upon the audience response in coming days. The film doesn’t have good reviews from critics. It has managed to smash first day records merely on the basis of hypes and extensive promotion.

Further, the factors like being an Aamir Khan film, featuring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan together, strong storyline, some sizzling performances from Katrina Kaif, and a Diwali release were some of the reasons that prompted fans to watch the film.

Well, the success or failure of Khans’ films is not always a matter of reviews. The Khans of Bollywood have maintained a status where they manage to attract the audience for their films despite poor reviews. One example of such films is Race 3 which had one of the highest opening days. It is to be noted that critics had slammed the illogical actions sequences in Race 3, soon after its trailer was released.

The Factor of Chinese Cinema

An exposure to the Chinese audience is another factor. Aamir Khan’s film Dangal had raked in more than 2000 cr. And a major portion of this income had come from Chinese cinema. Recently, several other Hindi films that did an average business in India and other countries managed to amass huge revenue after being released on Cinemas in China.

So, it is more likely that Thugs of Hindostan box office business will see a hike even if the film doesn’t impress the Indian audience.
