With the number of downloads TikTok has become the second most downloaded app on the Android platform after Whatsapp.
Only in January TiTok became the most downloaded app on Apple App Store and Google Play Store in the United States. However, people are now using this video sharing app more than ever; something which putting a strain on internet’s bandwidth The company has decided to lower his streaming resolution to ease the blockage.
According to Tech sensor data TikTok has been the most downloaded app worldwide in January 2020 which is 46% more than January 2019.
TikTok Usage in India
According to the tech news the number of currently TikTok downloads in India is more than 100 million. But the Company claimes that the number of users is growing rapidly and expected to reach 300 million at the end of 2020.
As per a reports released by app analytics firm App Annie, during lockdown TikTok app has bagged the badge of “most downloaded app” among social media apps in India.
The data suggested that approximately 80% of the users spent time on TikTok in 2019 in India. This implies that users in China and India are spending roughly 9 in every 10 minutes on using this app.
Short-format video platform by Youtube
The rise of TikTok video sharing app around the world has not gone unnoticed. There has been reports about Youtube working on a separate short-format video platform slated to lunch at the end of 2020.
