WhatsApp Enable Editing & Deletion of Messages

There are times when we have sent a message to someone which we wish we had never sent. Many messaging apps allow you to delete those messages. But in most cases that message remains there to potentially create an awkward social situation.

WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging apps in the world did not have that feature. But the company wants to change this for good.

WhatsApp’s New Changes for Users

WhatsApp will soon let the users delete or edit the messages they have sent. WhatsApp is already testing a beta version of its application having these new features. The user would be able to delete or edit the message they have sent to someone, whether sent within a group or out of it.

Limited Functionality of the Feature

Before you think of editing all those messages you wished you had never sent, this feature only works with a limitation. If the message that you have sent has a grey tick or 2 grey ticks, you can delete that message or edit it. The blue ticked messages cannot be deleted by the user.

Once you deleted or edited the message, your friend would obviously know you said something which you should not have in the first place.

WhatsApp’s New Changes for Users

WhatsApp Stories

The new feature of WhatsApp Stories would allow you to add stories similar to the Snapchat to your status. This may include adding a doodle or a picture, which will stay up for 24 hours. You can also apply to other people’s messages.

Live Location Tracking in WhatsApp

The group “live location tracking” allows you to track the location of other users. You can use this feature to track anyone for 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes or permanently. Social enthusiasts and friends who like to hang around or know the whereabouts of their loved ones, would find this feature very useful.

Users can choose not to allow others to track them. Download the latest version of WhatsApp to know more about the features currently tested in beta. However, like all beta versions, there may be bugs or glitches in this app.
