The Extremist Hindu Leader Becomes Uttar Pradesh CM

BJP remains on its course of promoting Hindu nationalism without paying any heed to the consequences for the so-called secular India by selecting an extremist Hindu leader.

Yogi Adityanath has become the new Chief Minister of India’s most populous state Uttar Pradesh. BJP, which won the elections in Uttar Pradesh with a significant margin, has given the seat of Chief Minister to Yogi Adityanath.

Selection of Extremist Hindu Leader A Surprise

The voters were duped by BJP to believe that the political party would focus more on real economic reforms instead of Hindutva.

Yogi Adityanath is the priest of one of the biggest temples in Uttar Pradesh. Adityanath has regularly stirred controversy by making flamboyant statements, mainly Muslims. BJP interestingly ignored the fact that one-fifth of the state’s entire population consists of Muslims.

Yogi Adityanath made many controversial statements in the recent, apparently exhibiting his extreme Hindu-nationalist focused rhetoric.

Let us have a look at some of the most controversial statements by Yogi Adityanath.

controversial statements by Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh won’t be another Kashmir

In a coveted reference to Kashmir, Adityanath the new CM of Uttar Pradesh said that Pundits would not go from Uttar Pradesh like they were forced to move out of Kashmir in the 1990s.

A Hindu god in every mosque

While talking to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Virat Hindu Sammelan he said that if he were given a chance, he would place statues of Hindu Goddess in the very mosque (God Forbid).

Those against Surya Namaskar should jump into sea

Yogi Adityanath was apparently telling the importance of the Sun God saying that people who did not respect him or Yoga could drown themselves in the sea.

Shah Rukh Khan should remember that if people would boycott his films, he would also have to wander in the streets like a typical Muslim.

This remark was made by the CM Of Uttar Pradesh when Shah Rukh Khan said that religious intolerance was the worst thing ever and India could go back to dark ages because of it.

Mother Teresa was part of the conspiracy to Christian India.

Mother Teresa won a Nobel Peace Prize for her work towards humanity. She is a role model for many in the world for her work with different communities regardless of their religious background. However, Yogi Adityanath believes that she was part of a so-called conspiracy to the Christian India.

When Yogi Adityanath’s father came to know about his son becoming Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he expressed hope that he would show respect towards all religions.

Another Mistake by BJP

BJP has nailed another nail in its coffin by selecting an extremist Hindu leader for Uttar Pradesh. The earlier moves by Narendra Modi’s party to isolate Muslims will come full circle. The selection of this extremist Hindu leader will be a real face-off for the secular India. One such example of open discrimination against Muslims is the cow-slaughter ban in India.

The leftist forces are feeling the pressure against their efforts to portray India as a more moderate and inclusive country for people of different religions. It will take a lot of time to undo the effects of a complete Indian identity makeover by the Indian Prime Minister.
