It Starts with Sri Lanka – Return of International Cricket in Pakistan

Pakistan triumphs, and so does the cricket in the country after a break of several years. It all happened with that unforgettable incident involving the then Sri Lankan cricket team and management. But, let’s move forward to look towards the future.

How Do We Look Towards Return of International Cricket in Pakistan?

It is a big occasion; everyone is celebrating, thanks in no small words to so many people who have made it possible. It starts with the Sri Lankan cricket players and its management to give a node to play in our country.

Credit goes to everyone including the government, the army, the law enforcement agencies, and Pakistan Cricket Board. The tireless efforts of Najam Sethi convinced the ICC to take a look at the security situation and give us back the venue to organize the international cricketing events once again.

A New Era of Pakistan’s Cricket

It is a new era for the cricket in the country, as rightly said by Najam Sethi. It was a historic day when we were able to conduct a match without any untoward incident taking place in the city.

The Sri Lankan Cricket President showed a grand gesture, offering full support to the Pakistan Cricket. Furthermore, he added that his countrymen are delighted to support the efforts for the return of international cricket in Pakistan. He said that he loves the passion that Pakistanis have for the game, and it can offer so much to the cricketing world.

Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Amir Made Their Presence Felt

Shoaib Malik was the only player in the match (on both sides) who was also present in Pakistan team when the attack on Sri Lankan team took place back in 2009. Shoaib Malik played an extraordinary knock scoring 51 runs in just 23 balls. However, the unforgiving Mohammad Amir inflicted a lot of damage getting four players out for only 13 runs. Pakistan batted first after losing the toss & set a decent total of 180 runs. Sri Lanka, despite all its best efforts, could only get 144 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, batting to the last ball.

A New Beginning Awaits Pakistan Cricket

The organizing of Pakistan Super League final and then the World XI series in Pakistan are great signs for cricket in the country. The country has been home to some of the world’s best cricketing talents. There is no dearth of talent that can inspire cricketers across the globe. A young lot of cricketers like Hassan Ali and Shadab Khan give hope to the budding players in the country that they could have faith.
