Winter Soldier is Going to Play Donald Trump in The Apprentice Movie

In a surprising casting announcement, Sebastian Stan, the Emmy and Golden Globe nominee recognized for his roles in the Marvel Avengers as the Winter Soldier, has been chosen to portray a young Donald Trump in the upcoming film “The Apprentice.” Reportedly, the film, helmed by Cannes prize-winning Iranian filmmaker Ali Abbasi, entered production this week.

Joining Stan in significant roles are Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jeremy Strong, known for his work in Succession, and Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova, recognized for her role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

What The Apprentice Movie is all About

The film is set to explore the theme of power and ambition within a backdrop of corruption and deceit, focusing on Trump’s endeavors to establish his real estate empire in 1970s and 1980s New York. The narrative will also delve into Trump’s association with the notorious attorney Roy Cohn, presenting a mentor-protege story that traces the origins of a prominent American dynasty. According to reports, Jeremy Strong will portray Cohn, while Maria Bakalova will take on the role of Trump’s first wife, Ivana.

The project surfaces amid former President Trump’s ongoing trial in New York for fraud. Despite facing multiple indictments, Trump, twice impeached, is reportedly eyeing a return to the Oval Office and currently leads as the Republican frontrunner for 2024.
