Trump Invalidates Women’s March 2018 in Single Tweet

One year has passed since Donald Trump made to the White House as 45th President of US. But, it seems impossible for American women to accept him as President. On Saturday, thousands of protesters took to the streets for women’s March 2018. They not only protested against the policies of US President but also raised their voice for the women activism.

The march called for the need of more women to run for the office of US President, under the slogan of ‘Power to the Polls.’

Purpose of Women’s March 2018

On January 21, the day after Donald Trump assumed the office of US President, women took to the streets to protest against his presidency. One year has passed, and the situation is same. Women in the US are mostly discontent with Trump’s policies on Planned Parenthood, health care, and climate change. But, this year they have come up in the march with another concern.

According to media reports, Women’s March 2018 doesn’t reflect the traditional antagonism between Donald Trump and female citizens of the US. The event heralds another era of female activism and participation in politics. This time protestors are demanding more representation in government by calling for the need of a female to run for office.

Donald Trump’s Response to Women’s March 2018

During his election campaign, Donald Trump remained in headlines for his derogatory remarks against the women. But he knows how to stay firm in the face of such harsh criticism. Most of the times, he just relies on using his Twitter handle to explain his position.

On the eve of Women’s March 2018, Donald Trump once again used the social media platform to negate the purpose of protest and explain his stance.

In his tweet, he tried to use a sarcastic tone for criticizing the Women’s March 2018 baseless. He stated that it was the perfect day for women to march due to beautiful weather. He said, “Get out there now to celebrate the historic milestones and unprecedented economic success and wealth creation that has taken place over the last 12 months. Lowest female unemployment in 2018.”

Women’s March 2018 as Challenge for Donald Trump

Well, Donald Trump is facing challenges one after the other. In the start of 2018, he was struck by the Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury that allegedly debunked the chaotic life of POTUS in White House. Later, he made news for canceling his UK visit amidst the fear of protest from UK citizens. To explain the reason for the change in the plan regarding UK visit, Trump again used Twitter to give an excuse for not willing to cut the ribbon of new US Embassy in London.

As far as Women’s March 2018 is concerned, then it is not something that gets harsh to Trump only. This year, protestors are raising more generic demands directed to the women empowerment. Recent #MeToo campaign on the issue of sexual harassment also echoed in this year’s women march. But, Trump seems to be ready for contest any strong female candidate. He recently claimed that he would beat Oprah Winfrey if she ran for office against him.
