Ethiopian Airlines Plane Crash Leaves 157 Dead

In a tragic incident, an Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed leaving no survivors. The flight ET302 that carried 149 passengers with 8 crew members was set from Ethiopian capital Adis Ababa to Nairobi, Kenya when it crashed shortly after taking off.

According to media reports only few months old Boeing 737 Max-08 crashed six minutes after the flight took off.. It had reportedly people from 35 countries on board; these included 4 Indians, 8 Americans, 32 Kenyans, 18 Canadians and also British Nationals.

The cause of crash is not sure yet. But the pilot of the flight reported technical issues and sought clearance for landing, reportedly.

It is to be noted that a Lion Air Line flight which was also Boeing 737 had also crashed in October leaving 189 people dead. Boeing 737 are used by Ethiopia as well as China. Both these countries have reportedly grounded all these planes. The countries took this action due to the degree of similarity between both the incidents. The flight from the same model is not likely to be resumed until proper safety measures are in place.

Who Died in Ethiopian Airlines Crash

According to reports in media and social media almost 19 United Nations members were on-board the Ethiopian Airlines Plane that crashed on the morning of March 10.

Retired Nigerian Foreign Service officer ambassador Abidoun Bashua was also on board.
