New ISPR Drama Sinf-E-Aahan Tells Story of Pakistani Military Women

The intense teaser of Sinf-E-Aahan has blown away the minds of Pakistani drama fans. It showcases a strong female lead and intriguing messages that jump out at the viewer. In English, the title translates to ‘Women of Steel’ and it tells a story about a group of women who join the army after overcoming challenges and hardships. The characters appear interesting, inspiring, and most importantly, far cry from the usual toxic relationship dramas that are popular in Pakistan.

The project is a collaboration of ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations), Six Sigma Entertainment, and Next Level Entertainment. It is written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Nadeem Baig.

Sinf-E-Aahan Cast is Remarkable

Sinf-E-Aahan cast includes 6 absolute powerhouses from the Pakistani TV industry – Sajal Ali, Yumna Zaida, Kubra Khan, Syra Yousaf, Ramsha Khan, and Yehali Tashiya Kalidasa.

Besides the huge female cast, some pretty big male names have also been associated with the project in the supporting roles. Reportedly, they include Usman Mukhtar, Sheheryar Munawar, Asim Azhar, Ali Rehman Khan, and Asad Siddiqui.

Some reports said that the “Pawri Girl”, Dananeer Mubeen will also make an appearance.

Teaser Will Give You Goosebumps

Unfortunately, the teaser is too short so it’s understandable viewers that may be a little restless. One cannot get enough of this power-pack ensemble of some of the best women actors in the business.

The teaser promises to show women in a different light than they are usually portrayed in other dramas. It introduces 6 female protagonists from different backgrounds united for a common goal. They go through the process of developing into a soldier of the Pakistan Army while also dealing with their problems.

These women have also reportedly performed real cadet training for the drama scenes.

Here’s another clip that introduces Sajal’s character with full force.

Its About Time

Viewers have many hopes with Sinf-E-Aahan, as can be seen from the comments on social media. For many, it has come as an opportunity to move away from the typical portrayal of women in Pakistani shows, where they don’t have many options to choose from. Sometimes, they are the evil mother-in-law, and sometimes they are just a tool for men to use and abuse.

Drama fans have been waiting a long time to see some fresh content and it seems to them that this is it.

However, previous content from ISPR has received criticism for its perception of the world around it. Its Ehd-E-Wafa was a huge hit but some pointed out the factual mistakes regarding Army life. Most recently it’s Aik Hai Nagar also came under fire because it communicated a problematic dialogue that undermined the efforts of general doctors.
