PSL 6 Opening Ceremony- Atif Aslam and Naseebo Lal Rock the Event

Pakistan Super League 2021 has kickstarted on Saturday, February 20. The glittering opening ceremony of PSL 6 took place at National Stadium Karachi in front of a limited audience. This year due to the covid 19 situation the performances were very few, the ceremony was brief and on small scale, still it was rocking enough to offer a good start to the thrilling event.

After the ceremony the first match of the PSL 2021 started between defending champions Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings; the latter won the toss and chose to bowl first.

PSL 6 Opening Ceremony Highlights

In the previous seasons of the Pakistan Super League, there were usually more songs and dance performances along with the introduction of teams. However, due to Covid 19 restrictions this year only Naseebo Lal and Aima Baig the singers who sang PSL 6 anthem performed. Apart from these Atif Aslam and Imran Khan’s performances were the highlight of the event.

Atif Aslam performed on his decade-old hit songs, which were enough to make folks nostalgic.

However, the winning performance was by Imran Khan, the internationally known singer who did enthrall the viewers with his hit songs Bewafa and Amplifier; both these numbers had gained huge popularity among Indo-Pak music lovers when they were released a few years back. He was accompanied by the actor and model Humaima Malik’s dance performance who dazzled in her shiny black dress.

While, PSL 6 opening ceremony didn’t offer much diversity in terms of performances it did impress with graphics, visual effects, and stage decor. The beginning indeed looked like something that was going to lead a thrilling sports tournament with a huge fan following.

About Pakistan Super League 2021

The month-long Pakistan Super League 2021 is the sixth season of the tournament. The event that has paved way for bringing international cricket back to Pakistan along with introducing new talent to the cricket team has been a huge success. PSL is now the third big cricket league after the Indian Premiere League and Australian Big Bash. PSL season 5 was the most significant that was the first season to host all the seasons in Pakistan however it was interrupted by coronavirus pandemic.

The sixth season of the league will also not be usual, due to the coronavirus. As chairman PCB mentioned while addressing the PSL 6 Opening ceremony, all matches will be played in Karachi and Lahore only. Further, 7500 people will be allowed to view the matches in Karachi while 5500 people would be able to view matches in Lahore. The number of audiences can vary depending upon the coronavirus situation. The fans who expect to see matches in the stadium can buy PSL 6 tickets online as well. Just like previous seasons, a total of six teams are taking part in tournaments; these include Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Multan Sultans.
