A Sneak Peek into Tecno Spark 6- A Budget Phone under PKR 20,000

Tecno Spark 6

Techno Spark 6 is the latest smartphone launched in Pakistan by TECNO Mobiles which is a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings based in Hong Kong. The company has made decent business from focusing on South Asian and African markets. Tecno has launched about 39 phones in Pakistan out of which majority belong to budget category. The latest Spark 6 is a successor to Spark 5 and launched in Pakistan on 21st September at 7:00PM. They were very precise about that

The company has got actor and singer Ali Zafar on board who played in a short action thriller and Diriliş: Ertuğrul inspired costume to promote the product.

Tecno Spark 6 Launches As The Real Hero of Smartphones

The marketing team in Pakistan claimed that this phone is the ultimate hero (like Ertugrul) among smartphones for its value for money. They used Ali Zafar to display that heroism in a short action film as an advertisement.

Tecno was promoting 6 upgrades in Spark 6 handsets which most smartphone manufacturers could not offer in such a price. According to the promotion, these features are Bluetooth Audio Share, Video Beautify, 4/64GB Memory Setup, G70 Processor, 6.8” screen, and Quad Camera Setup.

The phone operates on Android 10 and costs only 20,599 PKR on both, online and offline stores.

Performance

The G70 Processor from the Taiwanese company, Mediatek is widely adopted by mid-range smartphones. This System on a Chip (SoC) is an above average gaming processor with two ARM Cortex-A75 and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 cores. However, this chipset is ideal for only intermediary-level gaming unlike Mediatek’s older SoCs G90 and the G90T which can easily handle intense games. The latter was also used in a buffed up budget phone Realme 6.

The G70 also comes with a built-in high-performance GPU, ARM Mali-G52. This graphics processor runs at 820MHz and supports some popular games efficiently. Intense games like Call of Duty, Asphalt 9, and PUBG can also run with lower settings.

Memory

It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB phone storage with support for SD card up to 1TB. The memory is enough to run multiple operations smoothly and store large amounts of data. No other smartphone offers such a memory setup in this price tag.

Display

An average display composes of a 6.8” screen with 720×1640 pixels which is not as high-definition as many other budget smartphones. It is usually negligible in a low-priced phone.

Battery

The battery makes up for the lack in display. 5000mAH makes it a small powerhouse which can last for more than a day and a half with moderate use. Moderate use means playing PUBG for 1.5 hours per day along with WhatsApp, GPS, LTE constantly enabled, half an hour of YouTube, and everything else. However, due to the SoC and GPU setup, excessive gaming might cause the device to suffer a bit.

Camera

Spark 6 has a 16MP round-shaped quad camera setup at the back and an 8MP selfie cam.

Privacy and Security

In 20,599, Tecno also gave away the Face Unlock and biometric verification to unlock device along with all these features.

Issues With The Usage

Tecno smartphones usually contain a lot of pre-installed bloat-ware which might be stressful for some users. Normally a user does not need these apps and tries to remove them to free up memory. They unnecessarily take up space that reduces the potential performance capacity of the smartphone. Moreover, many users have reported privacy concerns regarding these software.

They can be removed forcefully but it must be noted that not all bloat-wares are considered threat. A precise search on Google can identify if the particular bloat-ware can cause any harm. Some of them can be useful while some of them can genuinely irritate the hell out of any user.
