According to the business magazine, Forbes Kylie Jenner is on track to become the youngest self-made billionaire. Kylie Jenner who is 20 years old has an estimated net worth of $900m and she is on her way to trump the likes of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Kylie Jenner As Self-Made Billionaire
Former reality show star and member of Kardashian-Jenner leverages her social media fan following. She boasts 111m followers on Instagram only. She also made a name for herself for making headlines due to her over-filled lips, just like her sister Kim Kardashian who did the same for her booty.
The question is whether Forbes is right in saying, Kylie Jenner as a self-made star because the girl belonged to one of the wealthiest families in the United States of America. She started appearing in Keeping Up with Kardashian at the age of 10. So, it will not be wrong at all to say that Kylie had a family and already famous sister on her back for getting mainstream recognition, a reason why her cosmetic products sell so well. Her sister Kendall Jenner is already top in the list of richest models in the world.
And, some Twitter users were apt to criticize Forbes for saying, Kaylie, a self-made person.
A Disrespect to Women Who Sacrificed
One Twitter user remarked that saying that giving the status of the self-made person to Kylie was a disrespect to all those women who worked hard to reach this place.
brooo how in the world is Kylie Jenner classified as “self made” ?? Born rich, never had to grind for anything, never struggled with money or rising to the top? I feel like that’s just disrespect to all the fearless women who sacrificed everything to make it on Forbes list smh

Shelby Ivey Christie, a media manager of LOreal USA said that Kylie was a billionaire because her parents were the millionaire. Therefore it was nepotism and wealthy parents factor that made her set on track to be a billionaire at the age of 21.
“Self-made”? Really? It’s easy to become a billionaire when you’re parents are millionaires…It’s called generational wealth + nepotism.
Try Oprah Winfrey, who was raised on a small Mississippi farm by her grandmother, for self-made *whispers Kylie also isn’t a billionaire yet* pic.twitter.com/UQGrJxno8z

And an analysis on what really made her a billionaire.
Maybe it’s far fetched to laud Kylie Jenner (because we all know this is all Kris) and tout her as a self-made billionaire, but the girl did capitalize on her generational wealth, white privilege and fame in a major way. I mean, it could have gone left. Just look at Rob…

A Billionaire With Only 12 Employees
Forbes shared the details of former Keeping Up with Kardashians star Kylie Jenner’s wealth as well. It estimated the worth of her cosmetics line to be $800m. Social media star also receives $60m in dividend from her cosmetic brand of which she is the sole owner. She also makes money for endorsing the brand.
Interestingly Jenner’s million dollars worth of business doesn’t have thousands of employees. According to the under-discussion report by the business magazine, Kim Kardashian’s business has seven full-time and five half-time employees. She outsources manufacturing and packaging from Seed Beauty. And, uses Shopify for selling her products. She leverages her massive social media fan following to sell her products. Kylie Jenner is one of the top Instagram celebrities with more than 111m followers. She also has 25.6m Twitter followers. The richest social media celebrity can also count on the social media following of her siblings to sell her cosmetic products. But, the question is did Kylie really needed to work hard for achieving this status. And, is she really a self-made person whom people started knowing once Forbes reported about her wealth?
