Peace spearhead Mitchell Starc skipped the last one-day cricket match against Protease in Potchefstroom for his wife. Starc was released from Australia’s Tour of South Africa so he could return home and support his wife Alyssa Healy in women’s T20 World Cup final.
Australian Cricket Team Coach Justin Langer said about the early return of Mitchell Starc that they were happy to allow him to return home to support his wife in a once in a while life time opportunity.
He also added that Starc needed the rest before the One-day International and T20 International against the New Zealand. He will have so much workload on three formats this summer so heading home for a couple of days ahead of tournaments will give him a chance to refresh. He also added that they had plenty of fast bowling options with them in South Africa in the form of Josh Hazlewood, Jhye Richardson and Kane Richardson.
