What Microsoft’s Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 are All About

Microsoft has announced several new products including its most powerful and cheapest Windows 10 PCs, the Surface Book 3 and Surface Go 2.

Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3 Launch Followed by Increase In Demand of Windows PC

New products Surface Go 2 and Book 3 are announced through online platforms rather than splashy events due to novel coronavirus pandemic.  Lots of people are using computers more than ever during the lockdown. Panos Panay the Microsoft Chief product wrote in a blog-post that there was an increase of over 4 trillion minutes spent on Windows 10 in a month which is a 75% increase from the same time last year.

 These new Microsoft premium products have direct competition with Apple and Dell. Apple has recently released a new iPhone, new iPads Pro and new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air computers.

Microsoft Surface Go 2

Surface Go 2 from Microsoft original Surface Go has the most significant changes and has more improved specs. It has a10.5 inches, up from the 10-inch panel on the original. Unlike the Surface Go, Surface Go 2 has longer battery life up to 10 hours and has 64% better performance. The Surface Go 2 has Intel eighth-generation Intel Core M processors and also improved microphones. It has a five-megapixel front-facing camera designed for crisp video calls even in low light conditions. It seems that features are designed in a way to uit the work at home conditions.

Surface Go 2 is a full Windows 10 2-in-1 PC so users can do whatever they want without limitations where as iPad is just a slate with mobile OS. Surface Go 2 in education is powerful learning solution it is what makes Microsoft an enterprise success. It offers a better inking experience and works wonderfully with the Surface Pen for things like highlighting passages or drawing in art classes.

Further, the features of Surface Go 2 are such objective in nature that they allow businesses to use it as a tool. As a PC it is categorically the tool businesses use and sets the stage for providing more options for schools as a device OEMs may emulate. 

Microsoft Surface Book 3

Microsoft has announced Surface 3 the company’s latest high-performance two-in-one laptop with a detachable display. Surface Book 3 termed as a highest-end notebook in Microsoft’s family of PCs. It comes out with big promises of 50% more performance than its predecessor Surface Book 2.  It has Intel’s latest 10th Gen processors with Nvidia GPU options. There are no big design changes this time around and have two models each of a 13-inch and a 15-inch, both featuring the same hinge and detachable display design the Surface Book is known for. Battery life on the 13-inch model is estimated at 15.5 hours, while the 15-inch model has a battery life of 17.5 hours.

According to Microsoft, Nvidia-equipped builds are more desirable for gamers. They also enable the use of Xbox Game Pass for PC at 1080p and 60 frames per second more fastly.

The 13-inch Surface Book 3 is priced  at $1,599, while the 15-inch model ‘s price starts from $2,299. Preorders are open right now. Company will start delivering the products by May 21. Given current conditions of economy Surface Go 2 seems a better option for students and workers who need more affordable solution.
